Avocado! It is the superman of fruit! It is SUPER FRUIT! Oh yes and you can be sure all the other fruits are jealous.
This little guy has so many health benefits it’s crazy. It is practically a multivitamin, only natural from Mother Nature herself. The California Avocado Commission says that more than 20 vitamins and minerals are packed under its green skin.
This fruit may even prevent cancer. It is kind of a confusing topic. I mean how exactly does a fruit prevent cancer? I’m going to try to break it down for you. Cancerous cells start because of unstable molecules. When they are active they can damage your cells, which can start the growth of precancerous cells. By eating a fruit that is high in antioxidants, like an avocado, it may prevent this process from ever occurring.
Antioxidants do this because they interfere with the cancer cells and stabilize them. Pretty much think of the unstable molecules as hyper children bouncing around, but then the antioxidants that are the mothers come in and sort of create a barricade and calm them down.
Avocados also offer healthy monounsaturated fats. Yes, I said fats, but don’t freak out this is a good kind of fat. It is oleic acid, which may reduce blood cholesterol levels, as well as help prevent cancer.
Some other things this super food may be able to help with are: cardiovascular dieses, eye and heart health, stoke prevention, nutrient absorption and anit-aging.
Try adding avocado to your foods. Simply add it in to your salad, or to your chicken quesadilla. Also try making guacamole for chip dip and next time you go out to sushi, try to avocado rolls. Before you know it, you’ll be obsessed and able to eat half of one daily, but be careful– you could turn into superman or woman.
